A little bit about me, I am a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island with my Masters of Business Administration. My passion is marketing and love working as an inbound marketer. I have 2 years experience working in the field, working as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Rhode Island’s Providence Campus. In this role I have taken the lead in the social media initiative for the campus, developing a strategy, expanding our presence and managing all things social.
I am a Certified Inbound Marketer with extensive knowledge of social media through online research and attendance of industry related workshops; seeking to secure a full-time position in the field of social media or inbound marketing.
I often find that when you tell people you are a social media marketer, their assumption is that you get paid to sit on Facebook all day, but there is so much more to it. There is a science to social media, it is all about having a plan, learning and developing the voice of your brand, and learning what your fan base wants to see. Social media is humanizing your brand, connecting with current and potential customers, not by selling your product to them, but by providing valuable insights that intrigues them enough to engage with and share your content. It is about going in with a strategy, but constantly monitoring what is working and what is not, adapting to changes and overcoming challenges. The greatest thing about social media is how it is always evolving and there will always something new to learn.
